Happy new year, everyone!
Today I’m teaming up with T3 Micro to show you, how to do an easy, no round-brush needed, soft beach waves on yourself. All you’ll need for this tutorial is a few socks, any comb or a brush of your choice and a blow dryer.
I’m so incredibly lucky to receive such amazing products like the T3 PROi Professional Hair Dryer & the sold out Whirl Trio Interchangeable Curling Iron Set sent to me. And I know it’s all because of YOUR support of me, so before we start, I want to say THANK YOU for this opportunity. I realize without you, this wouldn’t be possible, and I want you to know how deeply I appreciate you guys for them. <3
To celebrate our collaboration, T3 Micro will ALSO host a Whirl Trio Interchangeable Curling Iron Set GIVEAWAY (worth $270) for one of MakeupWearables subscribers. All you need to do is click on the link and enter your email, so they can notify the winner (you)! 😀
T3 is most definitely a “spurge” brand, but with good reason. Their tools are always elegant (look above), sleek and just filled with up to date hair related technologies, so you never have to worry about needlessly damaging your hair or buying a crappy product. My powerful new Proi blow dryer can dry my hair in 5 minutes flat! That’s literally the fastest “for home use” blow dryer that I’ve ever used! Same speed as my professional dryer!
HAIR HACK : SOCK WAVES BLOW OUT | HOW TO GET KYLIE JENNER BEACH, BARELY-THERE WAVES WITH A BLOW DRYER | Medium Long Hairstyles
Step 1: On freshly washed hair, towel dry and apply a leave in conditioner and comb out your hair. Carol’s Daughter Combing Cream is what I use every day right out of the shower. You can then follow up with a heat protectant, mousse, etc, but these are all optional. I didn’t use them.
Step 2: If you have straight to wavy hair, then use your fingers to dry your hair with a blow dryer almost completely (95% dry). But If you have very coarse and curly hair, unfortunately, although you can still use the sock method, you’ll need to use a round brush to smooth and straighten your hair (start using the brush when your hair is 60% dry) before wrapping it around the sock.
Step 3: Beginning from the bottom sections. Grab a thick section and dry it completely, either with a round brush, flat brush or no brush at all. All you’re doing is drying it 100% then heating the section at this stage.
Step 4: Once your section is dry and heated, quickly wrap your section around something, a thick socks for big waves, smaller things for tighter curls, then tie the ends to hold it in place. To replicate Kylie Jenner’s barely-there wavy hair, wrap all the hair around the face, going away from the face, and then alternate the direction from then on. Meaning, if you wrapped the front section away from the face, then the next section will be going TOWARDS the face. We alternate back and forth like this, so the curls don’t clump up neatly, but create a messy, beachy effect.
Step 5: We repeat, but leave out the bangs.
Step 6: Once you’re done, leave the socks in your hair for 5~10 minutes before removing them. One thing I need to mention, if you wrap your hair when your hair is cool to the touch, you won’t get a curl.
Step 7: After you’ve removed all the socks, apply oils (I didn’t have to), use a Dry Shampoo (my favorite, pricey but worth every penny!) on the roots and a Texturizing Spray on the rest to create a matte, beachy look.
G’luck on the giveaway, loves!
