Remember when Kim Kardashian wore her long, silky dark hair, super voluminous , and with curls slightly flipped-out? It looked so shiny, bouncy, and it had so much VOLUME!! In this, step-by-step, how to blow dry for volume tutorial, I’m going to show you how to do that hairstyle.
Scroll down to the bottom for the Kim Kardashian Blow Dry Tutorial Video for medium or long hair.
I’m going to add more to this post when I get a chance after work, but here is the product info you guys have been in-boxing me about. 🙂
Q & A
( if I’m asked something repeatedly, I’ll just answer it here.)
1) Why is your face so shiny in this video?
I was sweating profusely throughout this tutorial. I’m on the east coat, and we’re experiencing strange winter weather this year. The day I filmed this blow dry tutorial, our temperature went up to 60 degrees. I still had heat on in my building, I was under studio lights which gets really hot , and I was blasting hot air on my head. Lets not forget, pulling the hair this way and that way is strenuous. My scalp was really sweaty too.. it’s a miracle that my hair stayed up. 🙂
2) Why is your face so red?
I suck at editing and I couldn’t figure out how to fix the mistake I made with the color curve. . I could use green color to fix the redness but then my hair would have been green lol. My options were, look like a lobster for this hair tutorial, or look normal with green hair.
3) What nail polish?
Sinful colors in Endless Blue. I added a link at the product section. 🙂
FOR THIS BLOW DRY TUTORIAL
Eva NYC Blow Dryer – Use DISCOUNT CODE – Makeupwearables65 – to get 65% OFF your complete order.(not an affiliate link, just trying to help you guys out).
Moroccan Oil Hair Treatment on damp ends. Try not to apply products like this when your hair is soaking wet to prevent diluting the product with water.
Root-Lifting Mousse – SexyHair
Body Building Mousse on ends
*IF* you have curly hair, instead of a mousse or gel, use a straightening balm. Apply it on the ends, roots, and the hairline (hair around the face). I like Alterna Hemp Seed Straightening Balm for straightening curly hair with a blow dryer.
Kendi Dry Oil – I *very* lightly misted it on my ends each time I grabbed a section to blow dry. This will work like a heat protectant, then absorb into the hair for extra shine. It’s a dry oil formula, therefor, it’s not greasy. With that said, this doesn’t mean go crazy with this stuff! 🙂
Loreal Hairspray – Love the formula, I hate the smell.
Phytolisse Oil to add shine & tame flyaways. ( I *forgot* to use it because I was literally melting by the end – it was so hot in my room). This is great for thin hair. If you have very thick, coarse hair, it’s going to be too light. Try Morroccan Oil LIGHT if you have thick hair. There is nothing worse than overloading your hair with too much oil at the end. Use little at a time with your head, flipped upside down. <3
Nail polish – SinFul Colors – Endless Blue
Large Boar Bristle Brush – It’s not a pro brush but I don’t really care. It’s a great brush (unless they changed the way they make it). My brush is more than 10 years old. It does what it’s meant to do, grab and create very tight tension while you blow dry your hair. I have about 20 VERY expensive pro brushes, and yet this is the one I always pull out for the hair around the face. It’s also very cheap. 🙂
The ceramic metal round brush I used can’t be purchased alone so just use any ceramic or tourmaline plated, 2 1/2″ round brush (makes your hair shinier than normal plated round brushes). . Here is one of my favorite (it has ceramic and ionic technology), this brand makes AMAZING Pro items.
Contact Lens – Neo 4 tone – Brown
